TFC’s Journey To The FarLands
In light of events in October of 2012 in which I began an effort to raise money that I needed badly and was completely and totally blown away by a flood of generosity that met and then exceeded my goal far faster than I ever expected.
Because of this I decided that if I could raise funds for myself and my own needs, Why not raise funds for a much more worthy cause?
I decided on a goal by taking the total amount raised and multiplying it by Pi.
I then cut the result off at two decimal places and settled on a goal of $6,346.45.
NOTE: when I started this I was using a Chip-in widget. When Chip-in vanished Child’s Play charity created their own widget for donations and I switched to using that. Since there was 62.62 donated via the old chip-in widget that amount must be added to what shows on the Child’s Play widget above to get the actual total raised
Child’s Play Charity donates books, toys and games to hospitals all over the world in an effort to make the sometimes long hospital stays of kids more bearable by helping to take their minds off of usually scary and depressing things like a long hospital stay, serious illness or major surgeries, procedures that can be both painful and frightening, and so on.
If you have ever been in the hospital for an extended time then you know what I’m talking about. Just imagine having that same kind of long, often scary experience from a child’s point of view.
By clicking on the widget on this page your donation will go directly to Child’s Play. *I* will never see or handle even once cent of the money donated.
Thanks for donating and I’ll see you in The Far Lands!
Here’s the first video in my “Journey To The FarLands” series in which I’m emulating Kurtjmac, walking to the FarLands in Minecraft Beta 1.7.3.
