What Do YOU Do When The Willpower Runs Out?
November 20th, 2009 | Posted in From The Cook, losing weight, video | Comments OffOne of the first things that anybody trying to lose weight runs into is the obvious temptations to eat the things that the plan they’re on tells them that they should avoid. And we’re all so creative when it comes to justifying those extra “goodies” that we know we shouldn’t have … “I’ll walk an extra five minutes and burn it off later”, “ONE little piece of cake can’t hurt THAT much can it?”, “It’s ok because it’s low calorie.”
And of course there are the many Myths and Lies About Counting Calories that so many of us use to delude ourselves into thinking that we’re not eating as many calories (OR carbohydrates) as we actually are.
Then there’s the temptation to skimp on exercises, or just skip them entirely. It’s easy to justify as well … “I’m too busy today”, “I’m too tired”, “I hurt too much”, “I don’t have the energy”. The list goes on and on.
When it comes right down to it each of these are a failure of willpower. If the willpower didn’t fail, then we’d go ahead and do that exercise, skip that snack, and be honest with ourselves about how we count calories and carbs.

My big question is: How do you get yourself to do things right anyway even when it’s actually the last thing you want to do and you just don’t feel like you have the willpower or just plain feel like you don’t even care anymore about your goal? (even though you know full well you WILL care later on!)
I’d like to hear from as many as possible, to know what others do in this situation, because maybe it’ll help me get through some of those “moments of weakness” and stick with the plan. Please let me know in a comment on or a video response to this video (you can find it on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jt123Bwe94.)
