Entrecard members will notice that this site no longer contains an entrecard widget. This is because after varying degrees of effort on mypart, I have come to the conclusion that the amount of traffic generated from entrecard members is not high enough to justify the time it takes to drop my card on a significant number of other card member sites.

I realize it’s possible to buy credits and use that to buy ad spots on other people’s widgets however again the effort and time involved far outweighs the benefits. Especially since as far as I can tell, 85% or more of the traffic from entrecard droppers qualifies as “bounces”, visits that last just long enough to click “drop” and move on. These people are not even the least bit interested in the content of this site or any of the advertising on it and as such I have no desire to go chasing after that traffic. I’m much more interested in targeted traffic from a demographic that is A, interested in the recipes and food related posts here and B, likely to be interested enough to click on some of the advertising here.

Simply put, time and effort = money and sadly, with the passing of my wife, money has become one of THE biggest issues in my day to day life right now. I find myself needing to “trim the fat” in a big way and make any promotional efforts I do as targeted and productive as possible. Entrecard simply isn’t on the menu of things that will do that.
